چکیده

The present study reviews research on refinery unit simulation. Simulation defined as the expression of the dynamic behavior of a system in a steady state by moving it from one state to another based on operational rules. In simulation, a computer used to evaluate a model and data collected to estimate the desired characteristics of the model. Traditionally, research on new production methods or systems has carried out with the help of pioneering units, but due to the high cost of building and maintaining these units, the idea of using simulation software to reduce these costs has raised since several years ago. Using this software, it is possible to examine different production line options, study the increase in unit capacity, and finally, optimally design and build the pioneering unit. On the other hand, parts of the process that provide sufficient information for the design of the unit removed from the advanced unit. Additionally, costly mistakes in the design and construction of advanced units prevented. The results of the present study in the refinery industry have shown that using new methods in the field of removing mercaptans, sulfur in fuels, as well as in hydrogen production, types of gasoline produced, other process units, in addition to optimal production. Furthermore, since process design is inseparable from the design of mechanical devices, equipment, piping, precision instruments, electrical systems, structures, and buildings.
