Prediction of pressure drop in air filters as one of the important components of HVAC systems has always been one of the main goals in researches. Among conventional study methods, analytical techniques have dedicated a wide range of articles to this field. As most analytical models have a general view on filters and porous media, in this work, we aimed to evaluate their specific applications in highefficiency or HEPA filters which are vital in cleanroom application, providing clean air and environment for manufacturing sensitive products on various industies. Particle capture in filters, on one hand, leads to provide clean air at downstream, but on the other hand, particles accumulated in the filter media cause increased pressure drop and effecting the flow, resulting energy consumption increase. The complexity of particle capture mechanisms in filters is such that despite many research, we have not been able to reach specific, unified, and operationally consistent predictive models. In this paper, while reviewing the analytical models presented for predicting filter pressure drop, the factors affecting the performance of these filters under real industrial operation cleanroom conditions will be investigated . In this way, the compatibility or deviation of analytical predictive models compared to the limitations of this field will be specified, and we achieve applicable model consistent with specific conditions of these filters in cleanrooms. By predicting pressure drop in filters, we will be able to leverage its benefits in maintenance management, energy consumption optimization, and product quality and cost enhancement.
