Introduction: Influenza is a viral infection that most commonly affects the upper respiratory tract; however, it may also involve other organ systems, including the heart, parotid glands, and skin. The dermatologic manifestations of influenza have not been well characterized, and physicians are often unfamiliar with them. Conclusions: Influenza virus infection may present with a maculopapular rash that can be mistaken for other conditions, such as measles or rubella. These lesions are self-limited, and only symptomatic treatment is recommended.
