From the perspective of qualitative methodology, the present study examines the differences in the type of music consumed by the youth of Tehran and their interpretation of it. In order to understand the sociological differences in the music consumption of young people, this issue was investigated through cultural capital. According to the textual data of the research, the researchers have chosen the qualitative content analysis method from among the qualitative methods. The research data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the research participants. According to the objectives of the research, the process of selecting participants has been done based on purposive sampling. The present study has shown the differences between young activists with different cultural capital in the field of music consumption and its interpretation in the form of concepts and categories. These concepts and categories are: 1. Trained taste and sensory taste 2. Harmony and Passion 3. Religious Guidelines: Critical Encounter and Rejection 4. Hearing the unheard and seeing the unseen, and 5. A part of us. On the other hand, those who have a small amount of cultural capital are closer to nature. In other words, they are not able to insert themselves into codes with which they can recognize music such as traditional, Western classical, or Baroque music. Therefore, the two central concepts of culturalism and naturalism can be formulated, and the differences in the consumption and interpretation of music among young people can be used.
