First report of cotton thistle leaf-miner, Pegomya terebrans (Rondani) (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) from Iran.

The leaf-miner fly, Pegomya terebrans (Rondani, 1817), is newly recorded from Iran. It was collected during surveys on biocontrol agents of Onopordum acanthium L. and O. leptolepis DC. (Asteraceae) in Urmia region, North West of Iran. The association of leaf-mining fly and two species of above mentioned cotton thistle is new.
