Mapping and prioritizing barriers to sustainable green supply chain management: An integrated fuzzy MADM approach in manufacturing enterprises

چکیده

Sustainable Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) is increasingly recognized as a critical strategy for achieving long-term competitive advantage and environmental performance in manufacturing industries. Despite its importance, various barriers hinder effective GSCM implementation. This study aims to identify, analyze, and prioritize the critical barriers that impede sustainable GSCM practices in manufacturing enterprises. To achieve this, an integrated Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) framework combining fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), fuzzy  Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS), fuzzy COmplex PRoportional ASsessment (COPRAS), and the Copeland method was employed. Initially, barriers were identified through comprehensive literature reviews and expert interviews. Subsequently, fuzzy DEMATEL was applied to analyze the causal relationships among these barriers, and fuzzy EDAS and COPRAS methods were utilized to rank the barriers based on their relative significance. Finally, the Copeland method aggregated the rankings to determine the most critical barriers. Results indicate that the lack of financial resources, inadequate regulatory frameworks, insufficient technological innovation, and weak organizational commitment are the most significant barriers. The study provides practical insights for manufacturing managers and policymakers, suggesting targeted interventions such as employee training programs, fostering collaborative relationships, and enhancing governmental support to effectively overcome these barriers.
