Assessment of patients' safety culture from the point of view of clinical department staff using the HSOSC developed questionnaire in Hashminejad Hospital - 2019-2022

چکیده

Background and objective: Improving patient safety in hospitals is one of the main goals of health systems, so it is necessary to continuously evaluate the patient safety culture among the personnel of clinical departments. In this regard, the patient's safety culture is reviewed annually in Hashminejad Hospital. In this study, the status of safety culture among the personnel of clinical departments is compared for continuous improvement during 4 consecutive years.Method: The current study is descriptive, analytical-developmental. 4 questions with the opinion of hospital experts were included in HSOPSC standard questionnaire in order to more accurate assessment in the brainstorming technique, and some questions were asked in a negative way. Therefore, the developed questionnaire has 46 questions in 12 fields. The questionnaire was completed by the personnel of the clinical departments (doctors, nurses and paramedics). In the next step, the results of measuring the safety culture in the years 2019 to 2022 have been evaluated and compared.Results: In the analysis of the areas of safety culture, as it was observed, 2 areas "non-punitive response to incidents" and "information exchange and transmission" have low scores in every 4 years (the average of 4 years for non-punitive response to The events that occurred are 38.75% and 33.26% for the area of information exchange and transfer) and are at a very weak level. Therefore, it is necessary for the hospital authorities to take necessary measures in this regardConclusion: The patient safety culture has a decreasing trend during 4 years and in 2022 with a value of 55.6% (7.57% decrease compared to 2021) it is categorized in the weak category, which should be paid attention to and for improvement and Training of newly arrived personnel should be planned.
