The study titled "New infundibulopelvic angle measurement method can predict stone-free rates following retrograde intrarenal surgery" presents a valuable contribution to the field of urology by proposing a novel method for predicting stone-free rates after retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). However, the study is limited by its two-dimensional approach, which overlooks the critical three-dimensional spatial structure of renal calyces, particularly for lower calyx stones. This letter highlights the importance of incorporating three-dimensional anatomical considerations, as supported by recent studies, to improve the accuracy of stone-free rate predictions and enhance treatment outcomes. By addressing this limitation, future research can provide more precise and clinically relevant insights into the management of renal stones.
