چکیده

This study provides a review of transdermal therapeutic systems (TTS) with antibacterial properties. The main approaches to the selection of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the methods used for the TTS development were examined. It was found that three major groups are employed as the active phase in antibacterial TTS: synthetic antibiotics, metallic nanoparticles, and plant extracts. The most commonly applied techniques for preparing effective antibacterial TTS included solvent casting, electrospinning, microneedles, and 3D printing. Methods for quality control of TTS to ensure compliance with international EMA and ICH standards were also discussed. Antibacterial TTS developed using these approaches may be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions, including infectious skin lesions, burns, and postoperative complications.
