Evaluation and Optimization Method for Digital Construction Collaborative Design based on 3D Model Half Fold Simplification

Digital construction is a multidimensional concept that covers the entire process of design, construction, operation and maintenance. Its primary objective is to promote intelligent and efficient management in the construction industry by applying digital technology. In order to achieve an integrated and synergistic mechanism for building design and construction, the study proposes digital building modeling based on 3D building model simplification to evaluate and optimize the design with the goal of construction and structural performance. The results indicated that the root mean square difference of the research method was smaller than that of methods one and two. The simplification quality was the best. (Method 1 is an edge folding algorithm based on vertex attributes, and Method 2 is an improved vertex clustering algorithm). The longest processing time of the model simplification method is 264.15 seconds. The accuracy of the research method was always higher than other methods, and it remained stable at 76.29%, while other methods remained stable at 73.21% and 72.15%, respectively. The research algorithm can achieve high-precision geometric reconstruction and reasonable topology simplification when the tolerance is less than 1.0m. For example, if the average height difference is less than 0.4m and the overall accuracy is greater than 93%, it indicates that the internal regularized contour lines can also reflect the original data well. The researched method can simplify the complexity of building modeling and provide a good way to increase the efficiency of communication and construction design between architects and engineers.
