چکیده
The semiotics of Quran words means recognition of their meaning in two historical and descriptive fields. In historical semiotics, based on language, history, and poetic books, it is defined that Maght is counted as a kind of marriage in a special tradition of Jahiliyyah. The use of this word in Meccan and Medinan surahs is a reason for its spread in Meccan and Medinan societies in Jahiliyyah. Familial tie was the main and most important element of Jahiliyyah about social unity, and it was the reason of Maght marriage (synchrony). In descriptive semantics, by surveying Quran verses and comparing adjacent words, you can define the meaning of Maght in Quran. Islam created some new cases for the word of Maght, but the main meaning has not changed from Jahiliyyah until the time of revealing of Quran. The general scheme and system of this word have found a new shape. This word that showed an absurd tradition in the past time has found some new meanings like breaking promise, not participating in Jihad, and infidelity to God. All of them equal wrath and hatred of God in Quran (daichrony).
