2D Graphene Oxide and Reduced Graphene Oxide Material for Efficient Photocatalytic Degradation of Wastewater Pollutants: A Comprehensive Review

چکیده

The materials graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) have shown enormous potential in the photodegradation of organic contaminants found in industrial wastewater. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of the properties, mechanisms, challenges, and opportunities associated with the utilization of GO and rGO-based photocatalysts for environmental remediation. Furthermore, we investigate the mechanisms behind photodegradation processes, the function of GO and rGO in photocatalysis, and the variables affecting photodegradation efficiency with these materials. Additionally, case examples demonstrate how GO and rGO are successfully applied in actual wastewater treatment applications. Limitations and difficulties, including charge carrier recombination and restricted absorption of visible light, are discussed, along with solutions. To direct additional developments in the field of photocatalysis, future research directions are suggested, including innovative synthesis techniques and sustainability considerations.
