Consider a simple connected graph ܩ with the vertex set ܸሺܩሻ. The eccentric and total connectivity indices of ܩ are defined as ߦ௖ሺܩሻ ൌ Σ௩אܸሺܩሻ ݁ܿீሺݒሻ݀݁݃ீሺݒሻ and ܧܥሺܩሻ ൌ Σ௩אܸሺܩሻ ݁ܿீሺݒሻ, respectively. Here, ݀݁݃ீሺݒሻ denotes the degree of a vertex ݒ and ݁ܿீሺݒሻ is its eccentricity. In this paper, these two indices are calculated for a given arbitrary caterpillar.
