The rising incidence of antibiotic resistance has intensified the search for alternative antimicrobial agents. Natural plant extracts provide promising therapeutic potential due to their bioactive constituents. This study aims to develop and evaluate an antimicrobial cream incorporating extracts, known for their traditional use in treating infections. Plant extracts were obtained using standard ethanolic extraction methods. The antimicrobial activity of the extracts was assessed against selected bacterial strains using the agar well diffusion method. The cream was formulated using an oil-in-water base and evaluated for key physicochemical parameters. Stability testing was performed under varying storage conditions to assess formulation robustness. The formulated cream exhibited desirable physicochemical characteristics, with a pH of 5.5, smooth consistency, and good spreadability. Antimicrobial studies showed notable zones of inhibition against bacterial strains, confirming the activity of both Acacia catechu and Tridax procumbens extracts. No phase separation or degradation was observed during the stability studies. The herbal cream containing Acacia catechu and Tridax procumbens demonstrated significant antimicrobial activity and stable physicochemical properties. These findings support the potential of plant-based formulations as natural alternatives to synthetic antimicrobial creams and encourage further investigation into their clinical efficacy for skin infections.
