Background & Objective: A cesarean section involves cutting the mother's abdomen and uterus to deliver the baby. The present study was conducted with aim to determine the knowledge and attitudes of expectant mothers regarding the health effects of cesarean birth. Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using a questionnaire developed from several electronic sources to determine women's knowledge and attitudes regarding cesarean sections. One hundred and fifty pregnant women, aged between 20 and 40 years, participated in the study. Their demographic information, knowledge, and attitudes were collected. The data were analyzed, and percentages and average scores were calculated. Results: Most pregnant women have good knowledge, with a mean score of ≥2.33, and attitudes with a mean score of ≥2.1 regarding the health implications of cesarean delivery. Conclusion: Pregnant women participating in the study know most of the information related to cesarean section. A high percentage of pregnant women prefer to give birth in hospitals rather than at home. Most cases of resorting to a caesarean section are to overcome the pain of natural childbirth.
