The kinetics and mechanism of the radical chain reaction of the oxidation of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and 1,4-dioxane in the presence of 10H-phenothiazin-2-yl-methanamine additives as one of the biologically active representatives of the phenothiazine class have been studied. It has been found that in the studied substrates this phenothiazine derivative exhibits antioxidant properties. Using the manometric method kinetic curves of oxygen absorption have been obtained. The effective rate constants for fk7 inhibition in the studied substrates have been determined. The dependence of the induction period in oxygen absorption on the initial concentrations has been studied and the values of the inhibition capacity f have been determined. It turned out that in oxidizing IPA f>>2, which was previously known as the result of regeneration of the inhibitor in oxidizing secondary alcohols in the presence of aromatic amines. Thus, the regeneration effect, characteristic of aromatic amines, was first discovered by us for 10H-phenothiazin-2-yl-methanamine in oxidizing IPA. The dependence of fk7 on temperature has been determined, allowing the reaction rate to be calculated at different temperatures. In oxidizing 1,4-dioxane, 10H-phenothiazin-2-yl-methanamine, as in IPA, exhibits antioxidant properties, but the phenomenon of inhibitor regeneration is absent.
