In this study, the magnetic nanocatalyst CoFe2O4@SiO2-CPTES-Melamine-Cu was synthesized in several steps. Initially, magnetic CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation method and covered with a layer of SiO2, and then its surface was functionalized with 3-chloropropyltriethoxysilane (CPTES) and reacted with melamine as a ligand to stabilize copper ions. This nanocatalyst is environmentally friendly, recyclable, and reusable. Its chemical and physical properties were analyzed using various techniques including (VSM), (SEM), (EDX), (XRD), and (FTIR). This nanocatalyst was used as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous nanocatalyst for the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran in water as a green solvent and at room temperature. Synthesized catalyst has important benefits such as easy synthesis, easy separation of products, and reusability for six runs without significant loss of catalyst activity.
