چکیده

Natural hazards have transformed the human made environment in the history and imposed considerable financial and human cost to urban areas.  More than 200 million causalities in the recent decades illustrate the depth of human settlement vulnerability. Earthquake is one of the most destructive natural disasters in Iran. It experienced constantly destructive events due to its location in the active fault lines. Despite the massive scale of damage such as Bam with 25 thousands killed and more than 30 thousand injured people which had an international attention, still the country has no proper preparedness for confronting for such deadly events.  Therefore, preparing and on time rescuing is essential and vital to deal with casualties in past earthquake stage. This paper aims to present a pattern for air-rescuing site selection. The methodology of the research is based on descriptive-analytical methods which have been accompanied by a field study. The paper applied MADM technique for pair wise comparison of indexes and determining the scores and finally Entropy and SAW were used to select the air-rescuing appropriate sites.  The results revealed that Keshvari square has the first priority as it scored highest level with respect to the given criteria for air rescuing station. Meanwhile, two criteria of open space and accessibility to the dense and vulnerable textures had a higher degree of importance among all criteria.
