: Nanotechnology involves using and manipulating materials on an excellent scale, typically ranging from 1 to 100 nanometers. At this scale, materials exhibit distinct properties compared to their larger counterparts. There are many methods for fabricating nanoscale materials, but the most favorable approaches involve green chemistry techniques that are environmentally friendly. Integrating nanotechnology with biology has recently revealed new opportunities in nanobiotechnology, which combines biological materials in various biochemical and biophysical processes. This approach has considerably increased the production of NPs while avoiding the use of harsh conditions or toxic substances. This review presents the recent progress in synthesizing NPs using living and non-living organisms and possible applications.
