A comparison of risk perception among participating sports activities students Male and female students’ university of Mazandaran (case study)

The aim study was to compare of risk perception among participating sports activitiesstudents. Samples were selected from a population of university student athletes (girls and boys) participating in educational classes, members of sports teams and athletic programs. The sample size was set up based on all 901 samples in full. Research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire namely “the Perception of Risk Questionnaire (PRQ)”. Its validity was approved by 11 experts in the field of sport management. Moreover, its reliability was estimated by the Cronbach's alpha of 0.84 in a pilot study. Results from the survey data using Kolmogorov-smirnoff and U-Mann Whitney tests were extracted. The results showed there are significant differences between girls  and  boys  student  in  risk perception on the criteria of  Sensation seeking ,fear of injury, self-confidence‌ and experience. also, no significant difference was observed between girls  and boys  student  on the criteria of  injury background  Effect  and Success Effect in the repetition of risky activities .it  indicate the  same attitude of  boys  and  girls  at  the  mentioned  indexes. Managers of sport organization should be as a perceived attitudes the participants in sports activities, for survival of  your organization and also providing safety and health athletes, so  this way be removed critical steps to identify  the perception student  of  risk that could leads to  lack of their participation in sport  activity.
