Synthesis and nano-conversion of mixed-ligand complexes of platinum and gold: A Comparative study on their anti-breast cancer activity

This study focuses on the preparation of tri-imidazole derivatives and metal complexes of metal chloride. The ligand, tri-imidazole derivative, was prepared by reacting a mixture of 4,4-dimethoxybenzyl with ammonium acetate and indole aldehyde derivatives. Solid metal complexes of metal chloride were prepared using condensation reactions with amoxicillin and tertiary imidazole derivatives. The structure of these compounds was characterized using various spectroscopic methods, including Uv-Vis, FTIR, 1H-NMR, Atomic absorption metals analysis, elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, and conductivity measurements. The ligands were found to behave as bidentate, with the [LL/-Pt] complex having octahedral geometry and the [LL/-Au] Squar planer. The nano-complexes of heavy metal were prepared using the Top-Down method and characterized using AFM and X-ray powder diffraction spectra. The compounds were tested against selected micro-organisms and tested for their ability to inhibit bacteria and fungi growth. The toxicity of the prepared metal complexes against the cancer cell line was also studied, showing higher inhibition than free ligands.
