چکیده

Hydroxyapatite, a recyclable catalyst, has been used in a one-pot, multi-component reaction to synthesize pyrimidin-2-thione derivatives using ethanol as the solvent. The procedure is mild, inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and highly efficient, producing good to excellent yields of products. Response surface methodology based on a Box-Behnken design was employed to identify the optimal reaction parameters by varying the amounts of acetylacetone, thiourea, aldehyde, and catalyst. The optimal parameters for the synthesis of pyrimidin-2-thione derivatives were 0.001 mole each of acetylacetone, thiourea, and aldehyde and 0.175 g of hydroxyapatite.
