چکیده

Background and Aim: Safavids as the first government after Islam, who established a centralized system and formalize Shiism in Iran, were neighbors in the east and west with governments such as the Ottoman Empire and India. Scientists from these lands interacted with each other and engaged in scientific, cultural and economic exchanges. The present article seeks to examine the reasons for physicians’ immigration as one of the important groups of society in this period, to the Ottoman Empire and their religious beliefs, political crises and court rivalries, as well as the impact of the social, political and economic conditions of the Ottoman land on these immigrations. Methods: In this descriptive-analytical article, data analysis has been conducted by collecting information from library sources and historical texts. Ethical Considerations: In this research, honesty&trustworthiness in the use ot sources have been respected. Results: The findings indicate the strictness of the kings and the religious beliefs that governed the political system of the Safavid era on the one hand and the favorable political and economic climate in the Ottoman society on the other. In addition, the Ottoman kings' welcome of Iranian scholars and scientists to settle in the Ottoman land was one of the main reasons for physicians’ immigration. Conclusion: The medical community in the Safavid period, despite being considered an important court class, faced many problems, including murder, confiscation of property, removal from office and exile. Therefore, they migrated from Iran to the Ottoman Empire and wrote very valuable works in Persian and Arabic, which contributed to the flourishing of medical science in the Ottoman Empire. The most important of these works include Hayat-al-Haywan Demiry, Rojou-al-Sheikh Ibn Kamal, Risala fi al-Taoun by Uthman Tabib and Mirat al-Sehha by Ghiyath al-Din Isfahani.
