Hans-Georg Gadamer and Wittgenstein are widely regarded as prominent proxies of the two main traditions of contemporary philosophy, namely, Continental and Analytic tradition. The thoughts of philosophers of these traditions, as considered by the most contemporary thinkers, are always opposed together, but unlike them, we can find similarities between their thoughts. In this paper, we’ve tried to investigate commonalities of Gadamer and later Wittgenstein’s linguistic views. Here, we point to three main commonalities in their views, i.e.: 1. The nature of language 2. The analogy of the game 3. The critique of the subjectivism of modern philosophy.
