چکیده
In this manuscript, physical based models have been used for studying the combined impacts of charge carriers mobility and effective layer thickness on the performance of bulk hetero-junction (BHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs). For this purpose GPVDM software has been used and key parameters determining device performance namely short circuit current density (Jsc), open circuit voltage (Voc), fill factor (FF), and power conversion efficiency (PCE) have been discussed. In these devices with increasing charge carriers mobility, bulk recombination rate, recombination of minority charge carriers in inverse contacts and charge carriers extraction have been increased. Also with increasing effective layer thickness, light absorption and charge carriers photo-generation and extraction have been increased. With increasing the effective layer thickness, recombination of minority charge carriers in opposite contacts has been decreased. As a result, the key parameters determining OSCs performance have been affected.so that at a constant mobility value for electron or hole, the devices with thicker effective layer have higher V oc .
